Is it old or Walmart junk??

So I come across this vase at a yard sale. It looks old but I'm no expert. It says made in China on the bottom with what looks like Chinese writing. Do I have something here? I only paid 2 bucks so no big loss if not! [emoji1]

i am no expert, but i would think the made in china in english says it is not worth much. i could be wrong.

I'm inclined to think it is a 1980's Chinese copy of Japanese Royal Satsuma.

That's the kind of stuff sold at places like Pier 1 stores in the 80s and 90s. It wasn't cheap when you purchased it new from them, so 2 bucks is a great deal.
