is it petrified?

found this piece today. thought immediately it was petrified wood, and maintained that thought even after I got it home and cleaned up.
asking for opinions though. I don't want to claim it's something when it's not!

Fossilized coral. I find a lot of it in my part of Ga too. Sometimes in big chunks with the coral head still showing.

very cool! I had no idea! I have tons of fossils; shells, a leaf or two. never found one till today.

what part of georgia do you hunt? (aka live)

Looks like wood has the shape, but too porous going with coral too!!

no..I have some more pics. I'll post. It's very heavy, like stone, tho.
