Say someone had a junk car. Could i just go pay them whatever for it, tow it to the scrap yard, and then sell it? How much do scrap yards pay for a car? Any legal/title issues to worry about?

in NJ if you have no title they have you fill out a form with the make, model and VIN of the car and your name, address and phone number. they zerox your license as well(at least the first time).

you will also have to take off the gas tank, wheels, and take out the battery and drain all the fluids. I think that's all unless I am forgetting something. remove the catalytic converter, starter, alternator, and the radiator as well. All these items you can make way more off of than the scrap iron price.
