I already owned the ace for a while and can say it was an ok detector. The things that were good about the ace was the acuracy of the id on coins. Also the depth and quality was good for the price. The things i didnt like about it were the hard pinpointing and the difficult targetting. So i sold it.Then i bought the Fisher F2 wich turned out to be a real peace of crap. Its 100 percent bounty hunter. No depth shaddy pinpointer and eratic ids with little accuracy.Wouldnt see a Coin past 4 inches. So i got a Tesoro Compadre and like it better than the Ace 250 and Fisher F2.So the question is the Ace better than the F2 is sure is no mistake. But the Tesoro Compadre is better than both for less money.

Sounds good, I am a recent Tesoro owner myself and am very impressed. Thanks for letting us know your comparison, they are always good to hear.

I owned Garrett's and White's for years, but Tesoro has really gotten my attention.

Since I have joined "Club Tesoro", I wouldn't use anything else now. I will say this though - My first machine was a Bounty Hunter Quickdraw II and I would seriously take another one over the Ace and the Fisher any day. I got plenty of depth out of that machine once I got the hang of it and even though it did not have a pinpoint button, "x-ing" the target was fast and easy. they sure get a bad rap but I could honestly say I never had any problems with mine. There are a few guys on here that swear by their BH machines - they do just as well as anybody else.

The Compadre is a killer machine (especially for the money). Just wait until you pick yourself up a Silver Umax or even better, a Cibola...
