Is the ground in Calgary diggable?

Hi all,

I'm going to be in Calgary for a work trip in 2 weeks and was wondering if anyone from the area could tell me about the ground conditions. I've got a permission lined up and am planning to pack my detector. I'll be there in two weeks. Should I be concerned about running into frozen ground?

I might be a little late in replying to this post but the ground here is still under snow. We are still a month away at least before the ground thaws. If you ever make it out his way again send me a PM and I could take you out to a few places.

Thank you! I packed my detector and spent 2 hours chiseling 9 Elizabeth pennies out of the ice before throwing in the towel. Those are some tough conditions up there!
