So, I found this at a military site from 1850-1858. I'm almost positive this is a Volcanic .41 caliber bullet, but I'm not sure. Anyone know?

Yes, that bullet is definitely a civil war era Volcanic bullet for pistols... an unfired one, too. The largest caliber of Volcanic bullets, which is the version you found, is the rarest. Congrats. :)

Hunt that spot very diligently, like you were mopping the kitchen floor with a toothbrush... there should be more than just that one. Worth a pretty penny to civil war bullet collectors.

Thank you! Before I posted this on treasure net, I was about to throw it away because I thought it was a modern pistol bullet. Good thing I checked!
