Dug this last year at an early colonial site that's given up a bunch of silver, and have always thought it was a decorative button of some sort. But I got looking at it again today and I cannot see any evidence of a shank. There also appears to be a small piece of a design showing through in one spot on what I believe is the back. I know its highly unlikely that this is an early coin, but wanted to see if anyone else had an opinion as to what this might be. Thanks for any help.
