I have found several 1950's wheat cents in the sand on a salt water beach lately. NO corrosion. Recent drops? It just seems so strange, you can go through a box of cents and only find a few, and they're showing up on a beach. Ideas? Are people robbing their piggy banks for spare change now?

Recent drops for sure...
My last beach trip I found one at the shower, another in the parking lot. Zero chance they have been there for 50 years

Im not at the beach but i used to get alot of silver dimes from a gal that drove the snack wagon by my dads mill. she would sale breakfast at all the local businesses and i guess alot of drug heads would round up all the change they could find , seemed like i would get a silver or two every day.

O yes she was a goddess, how i always dreamed of getting into her, a ( change dispenser ):laughing7:

I got an Indian Head at Robert Moses Beach on Long Island, and some old silver. Come to find out they were replenishing the beach with sand from dunes. :skullflag:

Never found a salt water wheat cent that didn't look like the surface of the moon. Likely modern drop, wheat cents are still commonly found in pocket change.

Got a pic! Some of my salt water wheat cents are decent and others are thin pieces of copper
