Is this a meteorite or just a paperweight?

Hello,
My Dad found this strange rock, back in the 80's, in a gravel pit not far from where we live. It weighs approximately 1 pound 15 ounces. A magnet will not stick to it. It smells like iron. When found it had no cracks, now it does. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

No one here can tell you what this is. You need to go to a local university or college, and talk to the geology department head. I personally do not think it is a meteorite, but I thought I my first two wives loved me..

Not magnetic is a big negative being almost every metorite is largly iron. The top left pic does look like a nice fusion crust. Metorites feel heavy for their size.

Don't matter if its a meteorite it will still make a good paper weight,duh
