Is this a Texas Star?

I posted this find a while back and did not get to many taker. This was found in an area were Texas troops had camped. Other items found were a pistol bullet, carved fishing sinker, picket bullet and a pack hook

It appears to be a TEXAS Star-The 6 dots on each point could indicate the 6 Flags that have flown over our State. A little known part of our history is there were actually 7- There was a solid Green Flag of the Texas Melita that was formed in Texas to protect early settlers (1851)
