Is this a wagon part?

There is a mid 19th century well in the middle of the woods, I started doing some metal detecting around it and found this, and about 30 ft from the signal, I found a wagon singletree end, and the well was about 20 ft from the signal.

I think it holds the axle beam to the main wagon beam. Single trees were not just for wagons,
