I have been hunting a home that I feel was built in the early 1900's..... a big yard that is now on the hill in the middle of a cow field...... well I haven't found much in the way of coins..... this 1903 IH with full LIBERTY popped out yesterday at about 1 inch....... then right beside it about the same depth I found the button..... the back has no marks that I can see...... and it has holes in it that look like they had stones in then at some point.. any ideas what kind of button this is and how old it might be..... The IH was the oldest thing I have found there.... found 2 Wheats... '44 and '36d...... also found some of the large tootsie toy cars..... they are in bad shape... but one is like 8 inches long and is/was a firetruck.......

Does it have the shank still on the back.....If not, it almost looks like some kind of club or fraternity type pin or pendant...

I am sorry that I forgot to mention the shank..... yes it is intact..... I am positive that this is a button of some sort...... just no clue as to what.... I have another button Im going to post before long that will hopefully perk the interest of all you button fanatics :)

When you post the fronts of the buttons, try to post pics of the backs too :) The shanks tell as much a story as the face...
