Is this nickle clipped?

Ok so I think this is a clipped planchette but looking for opinions. I will try to get better photos through the loop at home but no signs of grinding or deformation amount the affected area.

It's hard to tell from your photos but even if it is a genuine clipped planchet, It's not dramatic enough to make you rich. Maybe a slight premium to those that like to collect mint errors.

I believe that is a genuine clipped planchet! However, like cudamark stated, it's not dramatic enough to make you rich and would probably only fetch a few bucks over the value of the coin based on it's condition (which is really hard to tell from the pics).

No expectations of wealth with this find I just thought it was cool to find a relatively old and in ok shape possible error coin in the wild. Here are some pics thru the 10x. Chris

It is a genuine clipped planchet with the Blakesley effect confirming the error. Take note on the reverse directly across from the clip in "OF". Like others said, the clip isn't dramatic enough to earn a large premium, but it is neat nonetheless.

Very cool! Second error coin I have ever found. Found a double die penny when I was 10 in 1986 and lost it in the teen years. So right now this is my only one and will et put up safely. Thanks for the replies and teaching a bit, I now know about the blakesley effect. Chris
