Is this part of some kind of flask?

I found this in the attic of a very old home I own. House is circa 1810. Pulled it out of a pile of rubble under the attic floorboards. The main material on the scalloped body "gives." It almost feels like hard rubber. The black tip is solid with a hole. Would love any help that is out there!

It is a bit too small for a hot water bottle. I believe you have part of an early feminine hygiene device.

woah - yeah, those pics were huge! thanks for downsizing them. A feminine hygine device? Yikes!!! Damn this is such a cool site. I'm looking forward to posting again. I have a few things that i wonder about....TM
