By restoring do you mean repairing electronics ? Who is the maker and model number? I just bought an Advent 400 FM table radio for $4 that needs the volume capacitors changed which is a $3 fix. On the bay they sell for $100+.

If you can do electronics repairs yourself and can find the parts you can make a profit on vintage electronics.

If the item you have is in demand you can also make money by parting it out.

I would! Do you have the top? and is it missing the cassette cover?

I would say not, at least if it needs any serious work. It's no older than the late 70's at best, and doesn't appear to be a very high-end unit.

I don't quite know what to do with this anyone have any ideas?

Is that the stereo that has a light show in the lower half that danced to the music? Those were bad ass! If it is, I'd fix it for sure!

The way I decide whether to restore an item or not is... "do I have a personal attachment to it like an old stereo or is it something that will give me my restoration money back and then some when I decide to sell it like a recovered relic."
In this particular case, I'd say save your money!

I think its cool too. If you knew what was wrong with it, or how much work it needs, etc., it would be easier for you to make the decision. vinyl is cool.

I would try to restore it yourself if you know what your doing and maybe buy new parts. I would not spend a crazy amount of money on it though. I have to admit, that thing is so cool.

not sure I would bother with it
who's the maker?
The belts in the cassette are a pain to replace, if you can find them
I wouldn't touch it
cheaper to go out and buy a system
IMO
