So yesterday I stuck around the house my daughter was terribly ill with a stomach virus so while she was sleeping I decided I was going to poke around under my front porch of my 1880s Victorian home. I wasn't expecting to find anything but giant wolf spiders.(those things make me kringe). But I saw a bottle neck sticking out of the dirt thinking it was just a soda bottle I plucked it out and to my surprise it was a local soda beer I'm thinking mid 1890s. I seem to be a magnet for locals. Then scratching a little more at the dirt I discovered this awesome bucyrus Erie porcelain sign which I believe is an old steam shovel sign. All and all not a bad little hunt and I didn't even have to leave my house. Thanks for looking.- Justin

Excellent! I've always dreamed of living on an old property where i could treasure hunt. I'm coming over next weekend to dig under your back patio.

Come on up. I've found a lot of good stuff in the yard with my detector. I wish there was a privy though but the house isn't old enough I'm pretty sure they built the house around my claw foot tub. But my neighbor behind me there house was built in the 1820s they let me detect there yard but I haven't got around to asking if I could find and dig there privy.

You really should ask, you have nothing to lose. Let your neighbor help out and split everything with him. There's probably 2-3 in his back yard

I really like that sign, are you gonna hang it up?

Detecting on your yard is kind of like barrel fishing, lucky!

Thanks the sign is awesome and it's deffinantly getting hung up in the batcave. Coilygirl it's the perk of living in an old house you never know what's in the ground.
