It sure helps this old timer lift a scoop full of wet sand in chest high water. The two small Gatoraid bottles plus a bit of noodle on the handle make the diamond head almost weightless in the water.

Neat idea. I would jsut be concered with them getting in the way on those Chinatown digs. I like to force mine very deep, and it seems like the bottles would get in the way there. A little up the handle, and im sure it wouldnt be an issue tho.
