It's getting cooler

I came home from Ouray last night and took the shortcut over Cottonwood pass. The Aspen trees are turning color and the temperature is heading down. I was in the clouds at 12'000 plus ft in elevation. Next trip out will most certainly show many beautiful colors of fall. It's cloudy, cool and overcast here at home this morning on the Colorado front range. "I like it"

Nice dusting of snow on the high peaks this a.m.

It was in the eighty's this last Wednesday in Montrose. I thought I might see a little sleet at the top of Cottonwood when I took the first picture from Taylor Reservoir. It was about some time after 7: pm when I got to the top, but it was just allot of cool mist up there. Wasn't all that cold that time of the night. I'm sure it got to freezing after 3:am the next morning. Still allot of tourist out. The motel manager in Montrose said September is out doing August so far. It filled up with guest this last Wednesday night.

Nice photographs! Thanks for sharing...

Great pictures, Tamrock. Looks almost 'wintery'. We've had several mornings in the upper 40s and one that was down to 43 already. I'm hoping for more snow this winter. The first year I was here we had, I believe, over 19 inches of snow. That was the 2nd most recorded for the area in over 50 years. I enjoyed it! Seems every year since then we've had less and less snow. The snow melt, especially in the mountains, is where most of our water comes from. We only get about 6 to 9 inches of moisture a year here Mountain Home.

I thought winter just left not that long ago, now it has come back too soon. :coffee2:

This summer felt very short to me for some unknown reason?
