It's Real! Finally!

Well after a few years of digging junk jewelry, I finally score my first gold and of all places it was found in my own yard. I could have sworn there was nothing left to find. I can swing a machine for hours in my yard and not find anything but trash, old cans, pull tabs, and loads of car parts. Instead of a pull tab like I was sure I was about to dig, this came to light. Of all places, my yard.

Congrats on that. Just goes to show that no place is truly hunted out.

Yeah... I ran in the house as soon as I found it and asked the wife if it was one of her rings. It wasn't but is now.

sweet find. congrats!

Your gettin all that trash cleaned out of the yard, now ypur going to find the good stuff !!!

Looks like a very nice Sapphire - is the gold 10, 14 , 18K ? Nice find !

Real nice find, congrats. I had that same trouble keeping/selling the jewelry I found so I bought my wife a detector, sometimes she hits more treasure then I do.

Nice ring! You gotta love finding something good in an unsuspected place!

gotta dig those pull tabs and rings to find the gold! don't ya just love those kind of surprises? I know my wife does too!

Congrat's on a nice find!

now I want to hit my yard, for the 1373rd time.

Beautiful ring.

It definitely pays to dig trash.

I ran into an elderly guy a week or so ago whose been detecting since 1960, when nobody was doing it. I asked him for his number one tip and he said "dig everything, even if you "know" it's more trash" and to never assume anything.

He recently sold one of four Confederate belt buckles he found in VA in the 70's. They were originally appraised at 400.00 each. He hung onto them and sold ONE for 6500 bucks. He told me that he could have easily bypassed that find.

I've yet to find any solid silver and I know that when I do, I'll probably be feeling about like you are today.

Again, congrats. I'm certain that you've logged many, many hours before this find so you truly deserve it.
