I've achieved rockstar status.... sort of.
This past week has been awesome weather wise and today was no different. I've checked the beach cams periodically and there have been pretty good crowds. People are going in the water. Finally! Now, if only I could get my Tiger Shark back
I started hunting at 10 a.m. and hit on a (dime) signal 5 steps on the beach. About 50 yards from the that I hit a cluster of signals. It turned out to be a bunch of pennies 12 or so in a 5 ft x 5 ft area. From then on I was getting signals here and there (coins and tabs) nothing too exciting.
So around 1 p.m. I'm working my way down the beach, when this little girl comes up and asks "Is that a metal detector?"
After I told her it was, she told me some people had lost a ring and wanted my help. I followed her back to where her Grandma,Mom and little Brother are searching the sand in front of their beach chairs. The Mom explained she had just put sunscreen on and was playing with the kids and it slipped off. She showed me a general area where she thought it would be and I started sweeping. About a minute later, I get a so-so signal. I scoop up and before the scoop was out of the sand she saw the ring. With that I hear " There it is! Thank you so much! You're a rock star!" I replied with "Your welcome" and went on my way.
The rest of my hunt wasn't very eventful, found some keys that I'll be putting on craig's list but that's about it. Finished at my usual time 4 p.m.
Finds straight from the pouch

67 coins= $ 3.80

Mystery item I'm guessing napkin ring
