Are you digging in your basement????? The only way I can dig is to use the ice auger first ... :D
 

Very warm and rainy here. Got rained out for a while. Here are finds. The dime, one 48 wheat, several eat up zinc cents, and one keeper. Old octagon token for 5 cents John Cook. Incused, back blank. Off hand guess 1880.

Did a little fast research on token, could it have anything to do with Colonel John Cook, 10th Wisconsin mustered Oct 14th 1861? Any ideas? Does the token look that old? Numerical number is different than others i have found this yard has produced one eagle button in the past.

nice stuff. token is not listed in standarc catalog 1700-1900.

my guess would be from a billiards hall. crossed sticks and balls on the token. maybe local check old business directories. may be able to find one in local library
