Japanese coin maybe? I can't tekk

Hey all, I found this today at the local park. I'm not sure which country it's from and could use some help. It is about exactly the size of a quarter, and similar weight. Thanks for the help

It is a Japanese 100 yen coin but I just looked at about a dozen examples online and none had a date in English at the top of the obverse side. The reverse is Cherry Blossoms.
