Japanese WWII Button

Pretty Sure it's a Brass Button from a fallen Japanese soldier in WWII. The six leaves on the Sakura (Cherry Blossom) confuses me though. All the pictures I see have 5 leaves. Maybe WWI instead, maybe some special unit? Maybe not WW material? Any experts out there?

I did a little research and found out that I was in the spot where 7000 Japanese Troops landed to invade Guam in 1941. Japanese's Special Naval Landing Force?
