was Jim Morrison and the Doors.

the Doors covered it, Van Morrison wrote it...

*Written and originally performed by Van Morrison in 1964
*The most popular recording, ironically, was by The Shadows of Knight, a garage rock band from Chicago
*Their version reached #10 on the top 40 charts in 1966
*Also recorded by the band Them featuring Van Morrison himself, but that version never cracked the top 40 charts
*The song was also covered by over a dozen artists, including the Doors, Jimi Hendrix, John Lee Hooker, U2, Ricky Lee Jones, Yesterday's children and Rick (lol) Springfield.
The best version I've ever heard is from Van Morrison's 'One Night In San Francisco' concert

Congratulations, and welcome to the TNET forum!

G.L.O.R.I.A performed by Van Morrison's band Them and later by Shadows of Knight. The Doors did a version also.

Congrats on your 1st gold ring and love the song! Mainly welcome to T-net can't wait for more post be sure to post in "MUGS" so we can put a face to the name!
