I saw buried in an estate sale ad two Jaeger Lecoultre watches for auction. It was my first time going to an estate auction at a location. It was a cold rainy morning and we were huddled in tents but the auction went on. At the preview I noticed the older JLC watch was a redial probably from the 40s but the Memovox alarm watch was running and in decent condition except for a small scratch on the inner dial. I’ve been wanting a JLC Memovox and a reverso for some time so I was excited about having a chance to get it. The auction started with coins and it was unbelievable the crazy prices people were paying. Some guy bought a 2 L bottle of modern pennies for $40. Ike dollars we’re going for three dollars apiece and coins about double the melt value price. When the watches came up I wasn’t sure where it would end up but I got the memovox at a price about half of retail. The other watches went at fairly decent prices but nothing I had to have since I bought this watch. Very happy.
