I saw that little glimmer of gold in the hole, not a coin but that's ok. Reads" high range" or "rich orange" on the inside.About the size of a dime and shank is bent over. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks, dave

John Dean | Cupid, in the Character of a Link Boy | The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The date I keep seeing in 1754 to 1798. Not much else on this guy. Seems to be an artist or engraver. Might want to connect with the Met Museum, to see if they have, or know anyone with more info.
