Looks like you hunted an area plenty old enough to have some nice coins in it. Best of luck to you if you decide to hit it again.

Re: "junk" today

The junk days make you appreciate the good days that much more. Trust me.

Re: "junk" today

Hopefully when you get thru the "junk" the good stuff should start popping up!!

Re: "junk" today

Pooky Pooh, i'd say you did your share of dig'n that day!
If i can ever figure out how to set my detector to discriminate all the junk i'll be ever SO happy!
If your anything like me, your afraid if you do that you'll miss something good, so i guess i'll continue with the "if it beeps-dig!"
Good exercise i recon.

Re: "junk" today

Pookie, what is the average depth of the junk you are finding? If not that deep, maybe you can rent a Bob-cat and remove that much dirt (to be sifted later) then get down to the good dirt. If it was my property, that's what I'd do. Then after I had it all cleaned out, I'd just re-seed the area with new grass.......NGE

That looks exactly like what I have been finding...LOL

Re: "junk" today

Be VERY careful with that "junk".
Civilman and I, every once in awhile, find something really cool
in out "junk" piles. Just the other day I found a 14 inch solid silver
ladle that I thought was plated and a 1800 gold gilt spur rowel
that I thought was a washer. :tard: :o ;D

Re: "junk" today

EVERY piece of junk you remove increase your chances of finding any good targets that are in the place you are hunting.

Keep up the good work. Besides you can collect copper pipe, aluminum etc and recycle it for battery money.

Re: "junk" today

i know... maybe there are more v nickels hiding under all the junk... :P i was still excited from finding the v nickel so i got even more excited when i heard some of the signals my machine was giving out... oh well.
where would i recycle it? don't all the places only take a ton of scrap?

Re: "junk" today

We have a local business here that buys scrap by the pound, then resells it by the ton. Don't know if there is any place like that near you.

Re: "junk" today

its not that deep, but the area i'm hunting now is kinda wooded. i could never get thru the trees... :-\
