Just a few relics today

I went to my latest "field of dreams" and tried to just concentrate
on the area where the two pieces of the "Colts Patent" flask showed up.

This one area seems to be "talking" to me. The concentration of iron, the types
of finds that have been coming out. Trying to see if there's a few more hints of
what used to be there.

Here's today's:





Strange looking shotgun shell, (to me ).



Not exactly sure what these are, but I know they're
old. It takes a very long time to form that solid of and color
of a patina on lead.


Neat lock

Then the inevitable "whadifind!?!" that spawned my screen name.






I feel that I've seen the pattern before but I
can't quite make up my mind what I'm seeing.

Anyone?

I think your shotgun shell was a solid brass before they added plastic and paper to the front of them. Neat finds

Looks like you're on an old spot there. Some really cool finds. Love the old brass lock. The lead does look pretty old. That mermaid thingy is really cool too. Can't figure out what it could be? Good hunt.

Ah, mysteries, they keep life interesting!
The lock is great! Nice variety of items.

Mermaid yes. The part is decorative, attaches on each side, i'm not sure why the tabs have notches on them, that usually aids in a non slip fit.

Reminds me somewhat, of decorative lamp or furniture parts, but thats a just a guess.

I see Blingie didn't find anything in his favorite color....shiny!

Who knows whats hiding under all those bits and pieces of metal!
