Just checking in to say hello from CA

I wanted to say hello, although I have been a member of this site for sometime, I'm just getting into MDing, and am wondering if there is any local people who share the same interest, I'm in Northern CA above Frisco about 1 hour, off the coast a bit,
I've always been a rock hound but I've had the MD for about 5 years now and I think its time to start using it, I've been to a local park yesterday and did ok for the first time, then hit the beach today, didn't fair to well today. There are a few other places I've looked at that could be good but just havent got to them yet anyways I just wanted to say hello
