I dug this up last week. I'm always happy to recover silver, and I'm super happy to dig anything seated because they are rare as hens' teeth in my corner of the world. On top of all that, this is the second oldest coin I've ever dug (with the oldest being an 1863 half). Sadly, someone has carved a very crude hole through this coin, destroying 99% of any collector value. I didnt even look the coin up in the guides until just now and see that only 10,500 were minted!! Its pretty well worn, so at least its not like a ruined $3000 variety, but would have been at least $200.

Huge Congrats Jason, Way To Go! It's a beauty!

That is a fantastic year to pull out of the ground. Congrats.

Wow. You couldnt find a much rarer seated coin. Congrats.

Man that's cool. Congrats!

Still a great find! Thanks for sharing and keep checking the area out.

great one there!!!

Nice find! Its cool that your two oldest coins are silvers!
My only 1800s coins are coppers, only silvers I've found are from 1900s so no seateds for me yet.

Still a seated though! I'm in Indiana and have cracked the 1880's a couple times but no seated yet.

Great find regardless of condition!!! I need me some seated silver. Great job

Awesome find!

That is terrific!!! Hope you find 10 more!

Very pretty coin.

Congratulations on the key date Seated Liberty Dime. Any kind of SLD is a great find in my book! :occasion14:
