Just found my first ever V Nickel

I think the V Nickel it 1900 or 1909 looks like a rusted slug how can I clean this coin

V nickles are tough..They come out of the dirt most times looking pretty bad. I clean mine very slowly with some hot peroxide and q-tips.. jgas
