Fisher F2
Bought my new Fisher F2 about a year ago and, like all newbies, searched my yard over and over. Mostly clad, but did find a 1963 dime beside the driveway...so, a little silver. Dug some good size holes around the concrete driveway before I realized rebar was making me an idiot digger. Went to Oak Island, NC for a family gathering and tried the beach for the first time, but even setting the sensitivity very low, I kept getting false readings all around the wet sand area. Gave up and tried the dry sand and had luck. Dug a strong signal that read as a dime. Six inches later, I see a glint of shiny metal. Turned out to be the top of a sardine can. My brother and his wife got a laugh watching me dig it and extract it. I made him take it up the house to throw it away. Anyhow, been so hot here in Jacksonville, that I just haven't gotten out. Cooler weather is coming, so I will get out...and post some pics if I come up with anything worthwhile.
Thanks all on this board for interesting reads. My hobby is being kept alive through all of you.

Good luck Eric. we dropped almost 50 degrees here in Indiana wont be long now my friend. ;D

I am there with you! I have been detecting since 2008 and still have not found a ring and broke the 60's in coins. It is the thought that one day I might find something that still intrigues me. I went today and dug a new quarter, 2 pennies, and a tube of lip balm. Keep on trying and never give up! Good hunting
