Just off the side of the road today

I made visit to Estes Park today. My youngest daughter road along with me and we spotted this guy and I stopped so she could roll down the window and snap this picture.

Cool encounter! Waiting to start seeing them in the back yard. The elk come down to the local farm ground to feed on the corn and alfalfa. A good friend found two bulls dead in the irrigation ditch after locking horns and drowning. That was just a half mile from my place.

Indeed these bull elk can a bit out of their minds this time of year.
