Just one today - but I'm a happy guy!
Mrs. KD & I took my mom shopping, and after we were done, she went off to the hair dresser. Well, with cabin fever from the rain, time to kill, and a lull in the rain - what else could I do but hunt?!
I headed out to a grove that was close by and decided to give it another shot. This place is crappy and trashy and has lots of rusty nails.
WC & I had been there before, and found nothing of value that time. This time things would be different...
I got a good deeper signal right away and found a memorial at 7 inches...
That's the kind of BS that usually makes me walk away.
I moved over about fifteen feet and started swinging again. In less than ten minutes, I got this weak high tone that repeated over and over again. I'd turn 90 degrees and it would still repeat, but it was really broken up. I stayed on that sucker swinging and pinpointing, checking readings, and then starting all over again. It would jump all over from Indian head to penny to dime to quarter. Now I would have jumped down and dug it sooner, but the ground was so wet it was hard to dig good plugs. I wanted to get a good feel for it because of all the old nails around the area.
I decided that I wasn't going to dig too much today, I'd let the ground dry out before I did any serious recovering, but I really should dig this one. I did the best I could with the plug and got a sweet singing with the probe. I found the target about eight or nine inches down. I couldn't believe my eyes when I brushed away the dirt and saw the eagle in flight! Out came the water bottle without further thought, and a quick rinse revealed a 1924 SLQ with good detail left!!! What can I tell you - it made my day! You know how I like to take pics of my silvers in the ground before recovery - well, I had my camera there and never thought to take pics before I rinsed it off. I was just too excited!
Man I love this machine!
Anyway - enough talking - here's a pic of my new baby!

I don't know much about grading coins, but VF is worth around $35.
Well, thanks for checking her out. Once this water percolates down a little, the digging will be real easy!
HH this weekend!
