Just one today, but I'm happy with it.
Got out for a bit with Mark today. He wanted to go into the woods to a spot that is new to us. A man on a mission with a look of determination on his face, he dove right in and disappeared into the woods like a kid diving under the Christmas tree on Christmas morning! I decided to swing a little in the clearing on my way to the woods - I'm having withdrawal from turf hunting after Saturday's hunt. Anyway, I'm glad I did. About 6 1/2 inches down in the trashy dirt was this 1917 S Merc.
Alright - I got the hard part out of the way right off the bat.

The woods only gave me shotgun brass and bullets, despite finding an old cellar hole, but in the turf on the way out I found a 20's wheat. I was happy to dig it because it was deep and in a junk laden area. Watching all of you guys with E's and SE's, I'm learning and getting better at finding some of the harder targets. I didn't do as well as Bob did today, but any day with a gorgeous Merc is a good day in my book!
