Just when I think I'm done with Tesoro's, I buy another one.

Detector(s) used
Tesoro Compadre- Garrett At Pro- Teknetics G2+
Primary Interest:
All Treasure Hunting
I think this will be the 6th Compadre I've owned...lol. I have owned every coil option on them and even the Euro Compadre with adjustable audio. This one has 5.75 il_1140xN.2359152711_jyjd.webp

Is that the one that was just on auction?
I was going to bid but already have both modern versions. If I could find the older one with holes in speaker grill and higher audio tone is go for it.

I actually found this one on Etsy. There is a Vaq on that site too. I once had the one with the round speaker and 7" coil. Wish I kept it.

Something about 12KHz Metal Detectors on detecting very fine metal, and jewerly and depth. This easy to use light machine kicks !@#$. Would like to see a comparison of the Simplex and the Compadre. Enough said.

Very little activity on all these Tesoro boards now that they went under. But I have not quit. Have a Cibola on the way!

I don’t know what it is about the Mojave; a great detector. So simple but works so well. I find interesting goodies with mine every time out. Sad that it was just too little, too late for Tesoro.

Finally came today!IMG_1416.webp

I have a compadre from 2018 I bought new, it has maybe 20 hours on it, the coil went bad in March of 19. I’m thinking of soldering on another coil. I just hesitate to buy another 8” coil, would it need tuned?

There should be a ground balance trim pot inside, in case you need to fine tune GB. You may want to consider adding the plug, so you can just plug in another coil. I think that used to be a common modification.

you will love it."crackerjack" junk hunter! i use mine for mostly ''curb strips"
perfect for that! the 7" coil is a perfect match. be a ''classic" in a few years.
