Kennedy Halves

A lot of them out there, you would probably have a hard time finding someone willing to pay a premium.

I would set aside a few rolls as long as they are OBW (Original Bank Wrapper). They sell on ebay for about $15-$18 right now.

If you are a collector try asking your local dealer if he would take them in trade? That way you can avoid paying sales tax on the purchase.

The rolls will be crimped. They will look like any other roll in the box. However, they will be full of the same date. This is my assumption of how it happens

1) Who ever is rolling the coins (armored carrier, coin service) runs out of halves and places order with FED.
2) Bags of old and new coin (1999-2001) gets delivered to carrier. If the bag is new it will be of the same year and mintmark.
3) Bags are poured into roller
4) If the new coins are placed in first the first boxes will be all the same date.
5) If the new coins are placed in the middle or top it is possible to get a few solid rolls. You have to crack a few from the box to make sure there isn't any older coins mixed in.

Again this is my guess. If you have a choice I always save Head/Tail rolls versus Head/Head or Tail/Tail

I sold 4 rolls of 2000-P today for 12.00 dollars a roll to a dealer I'll take a 8.00 dollar profit anyday

Really, $12 for a roll of 2000-P? I know where there are 6 boxes of the 2000-P as of last week (various banks). Only 4 boxes if the 2 that the teller claims were ordered by someone get picked up. Any chance that dealer is around the Twin Cities?
