well, as I recall there was once a member here before asking the same thing. well, the odds are the people with money lived in higher elevations in Kentucky. most of the older honey holes you are after, likely were destroyed in the process of coal mining. your best bet, would to be get a metal detector and look around area's that have not been blasted yet, since the gold/materials you'll find will be in one piece. good luck to you merlin.
 

Actually, the higher elevations in Kentucky are the poorest areas in the state.
