Went out for a short hunt today to an area that I've detected a lot. The area is wooded and very hard to hunt this time of year. It used to be a Settlers Picnic area that started around 1870. Because I only had small patches to hunt I concentrated on listening to the faint signals. I found an Indian Head mixed in with nails. Then I heard a faint mid tone and retrieved an 1885 V Nickel around 9" deep! This is the second 1885 V Nickel that I have found this year. This one is in much better shape than my other one. I wish nickels came out of the ground like silver...
