4 boxes from one credit union

Box 1- Skunk

Box 2- Skunk

Box 3- 17-40%

Box 4- 1-40%

Not too bad of a start to the new year. That third box was a whole lot of fun. I had 3 enders in box 3. I will post pictures from my phone later. 100 oz goal, here I come!

Definitely. I was thinking after box two, "oh boy this is not a good start to the New Years goal." It was a bit different after box three. At that point I was hoping for some 90%.

I played with $80 I'm nickels because I had nothing else to search today and got skunked. Found some early 1940's nickels but that was it.

What years were the 1940's ones?

3- 1940

2- 1941

1- 1946

No war nickels

Still nice to get some from that era.

Definitely. I still don't know what I'm going to do with them, but it's pretty cool to find something that has been around for 70 years and think about how many people have held it in their hands or how far it has traveled.

Three boxes of nickels:

Box 1- 1 War Nickel

Box 2- 2 War Nickels

Box 3- 2 War Nickels
1 1939D Nickel

Now, the question is, what do I do with the 1939D. I'm new to this and really just doing it for the silver so where is the best place to offload these older nickels? LCS? Ebay has too many fees I would think from reading everything everyone says on here.

Last box of nickels for the week:

Box1- 1 war nickel

Puts me right at 3 ounces for the week. Not the huge numbers for the big hitters on here, but if I can come close to keeping this up I will be able to hit my goal of 100 oz for the year.

Honestly, eBay may be your best option. Coin shops could be a good option for the 1939-D, but they could just give you like $2 for it, so be wary.

Two more boxes of nickels:

Box 1- skunk

Box 2- 2- 1936 buffs
2- 1937 buffs
1- 1893 V nickel

I didn't find any silver but the second box was a lot of fun to open. I had 13 more 1947 and older nickels as well.

Searched 10 more boxes of halves and found two total

Boxes 1-5- skunk
Box 6- 1-1967
Boxes 7-8- skunk
Box 9- 1-1964
Box 10- skunk

I also went to a seldom used Credit Union and picked up $400 of mixed CWR nickels, dimes, quarters and halves. Nothing, but I couldn't pass it up. I apparently just missed out on $100 worth of large dollars. I did get the branch manager to agree to call me anytime she gets CWR of halves or large dollars. She was ecstatic about it. She said she hates waiting to get enough to send off so she would be happy to sell them to me.

I also had one of the head tellers who orders me halves ask if I wanted her to order me large dollars from Loomis. I said sure. I have never searched them before and don't know what I'm going to do to get rid of the clad but figured I could figure it out.
