First off I should point out that the really nice arrowhead with the broken tip was found by my 10 yr old daughter last weekend. Her and some friends were walking a field looking for cool stuff. I’d say that is pretty darn cool!
It got me thinking that I’d like to find some artifacts too. I did some research, and got in touch with an older friend of mine who was a serious artifact hunter 25 years ago. One spot he showed me was rumoured to be part of an old fur traders trail, also used by the North West Mounted Police.
Here’s what I found on my wanderings
Some pieces of flint, and maybe an incomplete arrowhead that was lost or discarded?
This piece looks to be handled by humans. Looks like intentional chipping around the edge, but I’m really not sure.

A couple of IH cents, a Chinese coin, and a square nail.
And then, at the top of a small hill, I found this North West Mounted Police uniform button. I couldn’t believe my eyes! I guess the story of a trail is true. And this is maybe a mile from the site where I found a bunch of these same buttons a few years ago. Now I have a “point A and a point B” to search between.
