Killer Pens, Gold, Sterling & Watches
I hit a garage sale for the local Boy Scouts and bought a large box of silver plate cutlery. It probably had about 30 pieces in it but I spied a couple butter knives marked Sterling. I bought it for $10 and included a couple bags with jewelry with one having a sterling necklace and charm. Five Troy ounces total.
I then hit a couple yard sales and found this box of pens for an unbelievable price of three dollars. There are four fountain pens with 14 karat gold nibs including a solid sterling silver parker fountain pen and A really old Waterman 18 karat gold filled engraved pen. Needs work so I'll probably fix that one but both of those will end up in my personal collection. The best part is they were in a vintage Gerard Perregaux watch box! I should get a few bucks for that also.

I then hit an estate sale on half-price day and picked up a gold ring and a gold pendant that were half of the spot price! 4grams. Who discounts gold at 50%? I also picked up a cool goldfilled1942 East New York vocational high school senior pin.
They also had a gorgeous sterling silver pin from the New York world's fair from 1964-1965. It is very unusual and I've seen nothing like it on the web. It should be an interesting sale.

I also picked up a few watches for $.50 each. One is a Pillsbury doughboy one and the other is from the Waterworld movie. The last thing I picked up was this Hampden ladies gold filled pocket watch as a repair project that I can work on. It was $15 and a little more than I like to pay but the case is in very good condition.

Unfortunately the rain set in around 10 AM and The yard sales seemed to shut down. It was a short but great day!
