Hi all! I've been obsessing over this one small artifact rich area for the past month. It was a house that burned down during the early 1900's on a plantation. I've been finding so many early civilian items but my goal is to find something of the Confederacy. I did find a button with a "C" on it but the C is different from examples of the Confederate Calvary buttons on the Internet. My "C" is of French script. Not Block or English script (think that's what it's called). Is this just another civilian button? Also I have what looks to be a gold plated copper pendant and a strange folding knife (strange Greek like engraving) that I can't find any examples. These were dug in Issaquena County. Im just going to toss up some of my photos I put up in the "What is it" forum. Didn't get many answers there so I'm hoping my fellow Mississippians might could help
Does anyone recognize the lady in the pendant? Mother Mary? And also the engraving on the knife? The bottom photo is just a number of brass artifacts that I found and one piece looks like the state of Mississippi. Does anyone know what that is? Lock cover plate or key? Thanks in advance!!!!
