Ironically, I have met the Mr Farmer mentioned, many years ago. Though he wouldn't know me from a bar of soap. So I can't just turn up and dig his lawn.
I suspect this story that I posted, is just that -a story.
How many Yanks had gold in their possession - in those days?
I'm learning so much from this site
