Was able to get some hunting in this weekend. On Sunday I went to a park for a few hours that I have been hunting lately. Tried a different part of it but the finds were slow with just an occasional wheatie so I went back to an area where I had some luck before. It was a spot between the side walk and the road where there were trees and it was saturated with screw caps and other trash but I previously was able to squeeze out some wheaties, indians and silver dimes. The oldies were only 4 to 5 inches deep but with the etrac stock coil it was challenging with all the trash. Started getting some wheaties and then got a screamer signal at 1/46 that was 3 inches deep. Was surprised to flip the plug over and see the back side of a Walking Liberty Half. Was more surprised to flip it over and see it was a 1916D (first year). Later on got the half dollar size token below and 7 wheaties. Time to get a small coil!
On Monday I went back and hunted a different section of the same park that was an open grassy area. Started out slow but then I hit an area where the finds started coming. Totals for the day were 5 Indians - 1902 (X2), 1905, 1906 and 1907. 3 Barber Dimes - 1900, 1902 (nicked it) and 1912. Also got 14 wheaties.
