Was able to get some hunting in this weekend. On Sunday I went to a park for a few hours that I have been hunting lately. Tried a different part of it but the finds were slow with just an occasional wheatie so I went back to an area where I had some luck before. It was a spot between the side walk and the road where there were trees and it was saturated with screw caps and other trash but I previously was able to squeeze out some wheaties, indians and silver dimes. The oldies were only 4 to 5 inches deep but with the etrac stock coil it was challenging with all the trash. Started getting some wheaties and then got a screamer signal at 1/46 that was 3 inches deep. Was surprised to flip the plug over and see the back side of a Walking Liberty Half. Was more surprised to flip it over and see it was a 1916D (first year). Later on got the half dollar size token below and 7 wheaties. Time to get a small coil!

On Monday I went back and hunted a different section of the same park that was an open grassy area. Started out slow but then I hit an area where the finds started coming. Totals for the day were 5 Indians - 1902 (X2), 1905, 1906 and 1907. 3 Barber Dimes - 1900, 1902 (nicked it) and 1912. Also got 14 wheaties.

Wow! Super job hitting the tight spots. Those trashy spots can be goodie mines.

WOW thats awesome Pat! Anywhere close to where we hunted together last week?

Very happy for you buddy!

Nice finds and pictures!

Congrats Patrick. Big silver is always awesome, and Walking liberties are aesthetically pleasing. Lot's of goodies there.

Nice assortment of goods, Pat. That's a great day of detecting!

Wow! Nice finds!! Congrats!

I added the 8x6 SEF to my Etrac about 2 months ago and haven't taken it off yet! Most of my hunting is parks and ball fields so dealing with trash is just a part of the game but I really like the SEF for working in junk!!

Congrats again!

Dave
