I live on Martha's Vineyard and as part of a beech restoration project mountains of sand have been sucked thru an 18 inch tube down a half mile of beech to be spread in places of errossion. A barge anchored in a lagoon moves about and sucks up the sand to be deposited on the beech. My question is ? what are the chances of anythng being in that sand ?
Last summer the Chicago Park District dug a 75' x 200' trench (2-1/2' deep) along the
Lake Michigan shoreline. They spread out all that sand on higher ground and we had
a field day. . . there were about ten of us and at the end of the day, there were over
100 silvers recovered (mostly Barbers & Mercs) and TONS of Buffalo's & V's.
