Hey folks!
Read about a historic site in a book recently and it turns out my grandma lives near it! I got permission to detect the beach by the lake so my brother and I went to check it out.
I started in the water by the dock and locked in on my first signal 2 inches down. I dig it out and see the edge of a reddish coin. I figured it was a quarter or something but was pumped to see a buff!
A little later I was digging a decent signal (turned out to be a square nail) and when I set my detector on the beach I got a signal. I look down and there’s the nicest Washington Tax Token I’ve ever seen laying on the surface!
Found nothing but trash from there on out for about the next 1.5 hours. My hands were freezing from the lake so we called it a day.
Buff is a 25-S, pretty decent date!
