Went to a lake beach and started in the water and at knee deep...bing,bing...55 on my AT pro...square tab...one scoop and WOW!, nice gold ring...I went back to my car to take a look with my reading glasses to see if I had 10 or 14k...I got a good look and...JUNK, PLATED JUNK...well it was better than the pull tab I thought it was, but not worth anymore than a tab...it goes with the game and makes the next real one that much sweeter...good luck everyone.

Can tell just by the settings it's plated

With my reading glasses it was very easy to tell...stones are glued in but I couldn't tell without my glasses.

All the best next Hunts!! :2barsgold::treasurechest:

nice close-up of the bottlecap..it is in perfect condition!!! Congrats!

Well,.......if it's any consolation,....that is the nicest junk ring I've ever seen!

Hey! Just look at it as a warm-up for the real thing coming soon! :diamond-ring: I've been doing this long enough not to get excited until I confirm what it is genuine! I've yet to find any gold, but know it will happen soon and Hopefully, you'll find your real gem gold ring very soon! Happy hunting!

I bet your eyeballs popped out of your head and you couldn't get those glasses fast enough to find out if it were real or fake huh?! Two rings and .91 cents... How'd you find that yellow plastic one btw?

It came up in the scoop with the square tab....51 cents...those two are nickels.

Still a nice ring, Amazing how good the can look in the scoop, and with the old eyes makes them look better...

Darn near the same scenario happened to me the other day.... felt pretty good knowing I had yellow in the pouch and after returning to the car to get a better look I saw 14KGP....what a let down....
Here is mine

Darn thing is, I really wanted an eagle ring..... guess I got one, just not exactly what I wanted....

Keep on swinging, more "real" yellow will come.

That's a nice plated ring...heavy too.

That sux.... They look so good in the scoop.

That would have given me a heart attack...sucks but fun nonetheless.

Somehow I knew right away the one I found wasn't real:dontknow:20150602_111745.webp

You would think a quality ring like that would of held up better in the water. :laughing7:...exact same ring, different color stone...I mean different color plastic.

Think about it this way, I bet you could get at least a dollar out of it at your next garage sale??? :D

OMG!! Such a beautiful looking ring! Sorry that it is not the "real thing'

Sure fits the phrase "all that glitters is not gold"

I wish you the very best in your next hunt, Lookindown
