TEL AVIV – A large 3,500-year-old staircase has been discovered in Israel’s Upper Galilee region at the Tel Hazor excavation site and is believed to have been part of the Canaanite Hazor kingdom that was famously conquered by the Israelites, as recounted in the book of Joshua.

Interesting excavation. I'm kind of an earth science guy, but I still wonder sometimes how these ancient towns and this palace, for example, get buried in so much dirt. Where did the dirt come from?

Not the only reason but as to the question of how things end up under so much dirt, ask yourself how long after dusting the top of the Tv does it take to get dusty enough that you can run your finger across it and make a trail. Now that is in your house where there is no active weather, wind, rain, volcanoes, micro meteorites and at least ten other things I am not thinking of
