Found this in a park. It was deep. Seems to be brass. I have no idea what it is. Any ideas?

Could be a part to a water pipe or fountain being brass just a guess

Perhaps... what you have found...

Is a "Waterous Pacer " ring.

Common in hydrants... and other applications that require a reduction in flow of water through lines... hoses.. valves etc.

Just a "shot from the hip".

Looks like something was broken out of the inside. I too would say water related.

I have no idea what this might be from... looks to be lead surround by brass? :dontknow:
But given the proximity of where you found it, I'm thinking Tommy, ARC & Tony are on the right track.
